Mare Lindo
Welcome to Mare Lindo, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Mérida, Yucatán. This charming restaurant, located at 381 Calle 61 in Francisco de Montejo, invites guests to indulge in a delightful array of traditional Yucatecan foods. With a reputation for affordability, quality, and friendly service, Mare Lindo has quickly become a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike.
As I stepped into the cozy atmosphere of Mare Lindo, I was immediately struck by the cleanliness and inviting ambiance. The staff greeted me warmly, showcasing a commitment to excellent customer service that has earned them high praise from diners. Customers like Militza Gutierrez and Morayta Mor have highlighted the friendly service and adherence to hygiene measures that create a safe dining experience, making it evident that Mare Lindo is dedicated to keeping patrons happy.
The menu is a treasure trove of iconic dishes, starting with their delectable salbutes and panuchos. One visit is simply not enough to sample all the delights, as each dish boasts robust flavors and generous portions at wallet-friendly prices. For instance, Roberto Rogel raved about the mixed empanadas and turkey broth, declaring them "delicious" and perfect for those seeking authentic tastes of Yucatán. I couldn't agree more; the savory notes in each dish are a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the region.
- Telera De Pierna: A must-try, this parmesan-gratinated sandwich features tender pork leg, ham, and a tantalizing tamarind gravy, all complemented by fresh vegetables, including avocado and pickled onions. Priced at MX$130.00, it’s a filling option that delivers on taste.
- Empanadas: These fried corn tortillas filled with ground beef or beans are simply irresistible. At MX$25.00 to MX$37.00, they are perfect for those looking for a satisfying snack or appetizer. The accompanying tomato salsa adds the perfect kick!
- Tamales Colados: With a soft texture and flavorful chicken filling, the tamales are a comforting choice. Just MX$36.00 makes this dish accessible for a quick but delightful meal.
Many reviewers, like Andres David Olvera Quijano, have particularly called out the Telera Mare Lindo for being a standout item. It’s a savory hit that, even without the tamarind gravy, delights with its combination of flavors and textures.
Mare Lindo has struck gold by combining authenticity with accessibility. The warm atmosphere, combined with dishes that showcase Yucatán traditions, leaves diners longing to return. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a genuine taste of traditional Yucatecan cuisine. Whether you’re a local or passing through Mérida, make sure Mare Lindo is on your list of culinary must-tries.

Very delicious Salbutes and presentation as seen in the photos: abundant! I loved them and the spiciness: it does sting. If I come back and if I recommend them.

The place is small but nice and the staff is very friendly. The food is very delicious and cheap; They have lime soup, panuchos, vaporcitos (tamales), tostadas, turkey broth, empanadas, salbutes, cakes, flan, fruit water and soft drinks. The place is highly recommended.

A place with very rich seasoning and many options to eat. We tried salbutes, vaporcitos, turkey broth, ground beef empanadas, polcanes and Jamaican water and horchata. Everything was delicious, but if there is something that you cannot leave without trying, it is the mixed empanada and the turkey broth, they are delicious. The person who attended us was very friendly and was always aware that we would not miss anything. In total it was 210 pesos and we were completely full. A place that meets quality, flavor, kindness and good price. Highly recommended!
